Military Service Quilt Presentation
Deb Blackbourn explained that two beautiful quilts were going to be presented today. They came from The Military Service Quilts Program of the Rio Grande Valley Quilt Guild. The quilt guild members make and donate these quilts so we can present them to Veterans and/or Active-Duty Military, who live full-time in the Rio Grande Valley. These quilts are presented in appreciation and gratitude for the Veterans’ service, dedication and sacrifices while he/she serve(d) in the U.S. Military. The Military Service Quilts Program hope they can provide warmth, comfort and blessings to the recipient. We have also presented quilts to families of a Fallen Soldiers.
Note: If anyone would like to nominate a Veteran, they should go to RGVQG.com, bottom of page to Military Service Quilts and fill in the form. Here is the link: http://www.rgvqg.com/

On Veterans Day we remember again
Our men and women who served;
We honor them now for what they did then:
The liberties they preserved.
Let’s never forget their sacrifice,
The hard, heavy work they have done;’
They did what was asked, crucial needs they fulfilled,
With a telephone, pencil or gun.
We’re happy and proud to honor them;
They gave so much more than they got.
Our heroes, our veterans kept freedom safe;
All of us owe them a lot.
